Cold aseptic filling and improved sanitation methods are driving innovation in filling equipment.
As consumers become more health conscious, the demand for preservative-free beverage products has increased. To meet this demand, aseptic technology has emerged as a filling technique in the beverage industry.
Traditional methods combining sterilization and hot filling are not suitable for products sold as "fresh" and "natural". However, the cold aseptic filling has become a common technique among beverage manufacturers for products such as ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk, fruit juices and sports or energy drinks.
Aseptic filling systems typically combine several components into one integrated production line, making them suitable for a wide range of products. This high flexibility allows multiple product types to be run on the same filler. Some machines can handle carbonated or non-carbonated beverages, hot or cold products, all on one machine.
More and more beverage manufacturers are turning to aseptic and non-contact filling solutions as they seek high levels of hygiene, better yields and better product quality.
